The taste is in seafood!

Although today every pizzeria has its own specific combinations for the pizzas it offers, some types of pizza are simply classic because they include proven combinations that have their fans all over the world. Seafood pizzas are among such pizza combinations.

Mussels, squid, crabs… even caviar!

Lovers of seafood delicacies were certainly in for a treat when interesting seafood combinations came to life on pizzas around the world. Shrimp, prawns, mussels, rings of squid, pieces of tuna, salmon… these are all sea ingredients that can be tried on pizza today in separate or combined versions! Of course, it all depends on what kind of seafood you like and how deep your pocket is. If money is not a problem for you, pizzas with caviar or lobster meat are not uncommon in certain elite restaurants.

A valuable source of protein and unsaturated fatty acids

Seafood, by which we do not only mean shellfish, crabs and squid, but – in this case – also fish meat or roe that are put on pizzas, are nutritionally very valuable foods. Seafood is known as a rich source of low-fat protein, and when it comes to fats, most of those in fish and seafood are good, omega-3 and omega-6 unsaturated fatty acids, especially important for, for example, good eyesight. At the same time, the consumption of tuna is particularly important; this seafood can really be considered a superfood because it lowers blood pressure and cholesterol, helps with weight loss, strengthens immunity, and some even attribute anti-cancer properties to it! We also put it on one of the pizzas in our pizzeria – the unforgettable Alcione! As it is common knowledge that seafood on pizza goes well with ingredients with which it goes well in other, classic seafood dishes, we added red capula and green pepper to our Alcione tuna, because quite often you will get a combination of seafood and garlic or tuna and capula on seafood pizza!

Come to us for a tasting of the best pizza with tuna in this part of Dalmatia!
